PROGRAM OVERVIEW
Leadership Assessment and Coaching
Prior to the in-person experience, participants will complete the Individual Dimensions Inventory (IDI) assessment which focuses on exploring motivation, hidden drivers and untapped sources of energy. An executive leadership coach will deliver a 1:1 coaching debrief on the IDI assessment results to focus development objectives in advance of the in-person experience. Participants will arrive at the learning lab program with clarity on their specific leadership development objectives.
Executive Career Development
Participants are onboarded to the program details, organized in learning partners and begin sharing their development priorities. Participants will experience a half-day workshop on executive career development, resulting in focusing their leadership development objectives while learning how to be an effective coach for their own teams.
Thinking Strategically
Participants will gain a deeper understanding about what strategy is and more importantly what strategy is not. This exploration will allow leaders to understand what would have to be true to shift their operational imperatives and mindset. Embracing strategic thinking will require participants to be more focused, more thoughtful and more intentional.
Communicating as a Leader
Participants will learn a framework for delivering clear, compelling presentations every time they speak as a leader. They will research, analyze, and understand the importance of knowing their audience and ensuring their messages are always crafted for maximum connection. Through exercises and coaching they will gain confidence in presenting, persuading, and defending messages that inspire audiences to take action.
Change Leadership
Change is omnipresent in our business environments, from geopolitical factors to changes within your own organizations, change is a certainty. Participants will gain an understanding of foundational change leadership concepts, including communication strategies, building resilience, overcoming resistance and practical frameworks for leading change.
Leadership Essentials
Participants will learn from a panel of leaders and executives. This Q&A style panel workshop will provide an opportunity for participants to hear from a variety of leaders across different industries, while gaining valuable insights and perspectives.
Creating a Strategic Leadership Vision
Participants close out the in-person experience by creating their strategic leadership vision. This session focuses on the participants ability to set a clear, forward-looking direction and inspiring others to work toward it. The key components of strategic leadership vision are:
Cohort Learning Group
Following completion of the workshop, participants will receive an invitation to join a WhatsApp group specifically for their cohort. As program alumni, participants will receive access to the alumni community, supporting development resources and the McQueen quarterly publication Empower. Approximately a month after completion of the program, participants will have a 1:1 coaching call with an executive coach to follow up on their learning outcomes and support their continued progress.

The McQueen Learning Labs: Strategic Leadership program provides you with a unique opportunity to network with seasoned professionals from across Canada. To explore and learn in a relaxed and safe environment that promotes exploration and ongoing learning. From the workshop sessions, to time together at breaks or during the evening cocktail hours, this program is designed to share ideas, connect and collaborate with leadership peers from a variety of organizations and industries.
